NT in 40 days

Going through the New Testament in 40days using this plan.

I intend to complete the NT 9times this year in 9 translations starting with KJV. I am following this plan on the Bible app:

The NT speaks a whole lot to the believers in this age. We ought to dwell on its teachings.

I look forward to deep understanding and encounters on this journey with the Holy Ghost.

How much more?

How much more evidence would you need to believe something?

How much more money would you need to make a purchase?

How much more time would you need to complete the task?

How much more knowledge would you need to pass your exam?

How much more love do you need to feel safe or happy?

How much more?

Our lives are governed by measurements. All the systems around us function in terms of some measures of certain quantities: time, more, space, distance, height, weight and so on. There other measures such as intelligence, beauty, love, hate which are less tangible, but not any less important. We need certain quantities of these things for our lives to operate. Some times, we may seem to run short and then the question: “how much more…”? How much more is needed to make up the shortfall?

” How much more?” is used in context of comparison. You don’t ask ‘how much more?’ if there is no expectation or benchmark of performance, or if there is no unit of measurement.

How much more?

Throughout the ministry of Jesus, we sense his frustration as he tried to relay spiritual realities to his disciples. Several times he voiced out his exasperation: “O ye of little faith”. If you study the verses carefully, you can’t but imagine the disappointment in his voice. In fact in one instance, he added ” how long must I bear with you?”

Matthew 7:7-11 (KJV)

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. [9] Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? [10] Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? [11] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

In Matthew 7:11, Jesus asked a poignant question: How much more? Listen to the voice of Jesus as he desperately tries to draw a comparison between humanity and divinity. Pause and meditate on the choice of words: “what man is there of you…?” (Matthew 7:9 KJV). Jesus is asking they what sort of father would not attend to the needs to his children? Would or should such a person be called a father at all?

If human parents, who we know are not perfect; parents who sometimes abuse their children, are not typical to ignore the needs of their children, Jesus is asking: How much more of a parent do you think I am to you? How much more of a father do you think I am? How much more of friend? How much more of a saviour?

How much more?

HOW MUCH MORE??

HOW MUCH MORE???

On what sort of scale do you measure how much more God has to do to prove himself to you?

How much more do you think God can do compared to the human or physical alternative?

If the doctors can help you get pregnant, how much more God?

If the bank can give you money, how much more God?

If mummy can bail you out, how much more God?

If the police can secure you, how much more God?

If the United Nations can declare the international child’s rights, how much more God, your father?

How do you measure the potency of God? How do you measure His effectiveness? Is He just one other trick in the bag?

If Jesus could give up his life for you, before you even knew him, how much more evidence do you need of his continuous support??

The heart of Jesus is today broken because you don’t understand ‘how much more’… You are living life way below heaven’s standard because you don’t realise ‘how much more’!

How much more God loves you.

How much more healing there is for you.

How much more love is poured out towards you.

How much more strength is available to you.

How much more power is at your disposal.

How much more hope!

There are insatiable, unquenchable, unmmaginable resources and experiences at our disposal in God! If earthly, evil, limited parents would do everything to meet their child’s needs, How much more your heavenly father, creator of heaven and earth?!

How much more?

Can I help you with an answer?

Very much more!! A billion times much more! Incomparably much more! Exceeding abundantly much more!

Yes! And much more yet again!

Much more than the pain, the fear, the delay, the lack, the ridicule, the loss, the failure… He is much more than all these!

Take some time out to get your perspective on God right. Understand that you are his child and he is a father much more that any father you know on earth.

God is MUCH MORE! Don’t ever forget that!
